CTVR’s principal outreach targeting 2nd level school children is the production of an animated action series called The Resistors!. The aim is to both encourage younger students to consider the sciences as a possible career and to publicise the work undertaken by CTVR and its constituent members.
The Resistors! is an animated action series set in the near future in “Cybernia” a post apocalyptic Ireland, a team of four children use science to defeat an evil junta of hackers. More details on the project can be found on The Resistors! website.
The series has also been re-edited into an feature length film. The series and website were short-listed for two categories in the National Digital Media Awards 2007: Animation and eLearning Product. The website won the top award for eLearning product.
